Mushrooms

Ok Nancy, does this satisfy your demands?

I was at Bosco's to kick off my birthday evening. I had eaten nothing but cake all day and decided to order something at least marginally healthy: Caesar salad. Usually I get it with the grilled salmon (and by the way, Bosco's has the best grilled salmon in town), but we were heading to the Reef next for shrimp. So I got the portobello, which I hadn't had in forever anyway (and Bosco's also does awesome portobello).

My salad arrives, and a couple of guys next to me ask, with curiosity and longing, what it was.

Guy 1: "Portobello? I've heard they're really good."
Guy 2: "Oh they're great. You know what's also good, shiitake."
Guy 1: "Yeah I love shiitake. I had a great chicken dish once with shiitake mushrooms."
Guy 2: "You can make some good dishes with shiitake."

And thus began a ten-minute conversation on the joys of shiitake. I, for one, was rather amused.
